Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Business Analyst to join our Payments team. In this role, you will partner with stakeholders across the organization to define business requirements, translate them into technical solutions, and ensure alignment with Finzly’s strategic goals. This position requires a deep understanding of the financial services industry and experience working with fintech products.

Responsibilities:

  • Requirements Gathering and Analysis:

    • Elicit, document, and validate business requirements for payments systems, including Swift, NACHA, ACH, Fedwire, FedNow, and other relevant payment methods.
    • Conduct interviews, workshops, and surveys to gather information from stakeholders.
    • Analyze and synthesize complex information to identify key requirements and pain points.
  • Business Process Modeling:

    • Develop and maintain business process models using industry-standard tools (e.g., BPMN, UML).
    • Identify process inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to design and implement process optimization initiatives.
  • Solution Design:

    • Work with technical teams to design and develop payment solutions that meet business requirements.
    • Create functional specifications, system designs, and data models.
    • Ensure that solutions comply with industry standards and regulations.
  • Testing and Quality Assurance:

    • Develop and execute test plans and test cases to verify the quality of payment systems.
    • Collaborate with QA teams to identify and resolve defects.
  • Stakeholder Management:

    • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
    • Communicate effectively to keep stakeholders informed of project progress and challenges.
    • Facilitate decision-making and resolve conflicts.
  • Project Management:

    • Contribute to project planning, scheduling, and budgeting.
    • Monitor project progress and identify potential risks.
    • Provide leadership and guidance to project teams.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in the payments industry.

  • Strong understanding of payment systems, including Swift, NACHA, ACH, Fedwire, FedNow, and other relevant methods.

  • Experience with business process modeling tools (e.g., BPMN, UML).

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Experience with Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) is a plus.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working in fintech product development, digital banking solutions, or payment systems.

  • Experience in managing multiple complex projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

  • Familiarity with cloud-based financial technologies and SaaS models is a plus.

  • Experience in mentoring or leading a team of business analysts.
